The Heroes II Gold version of the game was released later (in 1998) and only Windows version of the game remains in Heroes II Gold (DOS version was removed). This Compilation is known to be a last game release with DOS version of the game. The Heroes II Bundle from this compilation contains both DOS and Windows versions of the game (The Succession Wars with Price of Loyalty expansion pack) on a single CD (2 in 1). Tarnum: I say that GoG release emulates DOS version of the game from Heroes of Might and Magic Compendium Compilation released September 15, 1997. GoG (DOS) version will not work in multiplayer. I believe that original Heroes II Gold CD version will work on Windows Vista/7 x86 also but you have to use TCP/IP protocol for Multiplayer game because there is no IPX/SPX support for these operating systems. The original Heroes II Gold CD released Octowill work on a computer running Windows XP Professional/Home Edition x86 without problems and You can choose between IPX and TCP/IP protocols for network play. In GoG release, on the contrary, Windows version of the game has been removed. but wait if i run the GOG version in XP will it enable the TPC/IP? thanks for all the help I say that GoG release emulates DOS version of the game from Heroes of Might and Magic Compendium Compilation released September 15, 1997. sucks for me because i have a 64 bit operating system. Noamlol2: that Exactly my problem so you say the GOG version emulate the WINDOWS 95 version?ĭamn.
